Back in October 2021 we shared the news that after an illustrious playwork career spanning over 35 years, our current Director of Play, Pip Levett is to step down in April this year.

Our trustees led the recruitment process, advertising widely on social media and national online publications, with interest in the role coming from all over.

However, ultimately it was someone closer to home that impressed our interview panel. We are delighted to announce that from April 2022 our new Director of Play will be Ben Morris.

Ben has worked for Play Gloucestershire since 2009 and is currently Team Leader. He has managed numerous community and play nurture projects throughout the county, managed the My Park project with Sport England and has built strong links with stakeholders at all levels and especially children.

Pip said

“I couldn’t be happier to hand over the role to Ben, someone that knows the charity so well, cares so much and someone I know will use all his experience to lead Play Gloucestershire to great success.”

Ben has told us

“I feel incredibly proud and privileged to work with our fantastic team of Play Rangers and stakeholders, none more so than the children, young people and families that visit our provision and welcome us into their lives. It is the ultimate honour to be trusted to take over as Director of our amazing charity.”
