Sunshine and Sore Feet

Our intrepid team of sponsored fundraisers completed the hilly 22 mile circuit Cheltenham’s Three Peaks on 1st June, a very hot and sunny day with everyone feeling the heat on the final stage across Cleeve Hill before descending to the finish at the Racecourse.

Members of the team were Director of Play, Pip Levett, Chair of Trustees, Matt Arthur, D.I Wendy Burford from Gloucestershire Police and an amazing team from Nationwide Building Society – Joe Avarne, Chris French and Toby Kewen.  Joining the team were Therapy Dog, Rafa and Matt’s dog, Poppy.

Onwards and upwards…feels like mostly upwards…

Joined on  Wistley Hill by PG Office Manager, Helen Logan, to cheer the team on and offer moral support!

Office dog, Chloe, came too to say Hi.

A brief pause for food and water.

…and finally

Pip says:

“We’re raising vital funds for our amazing new Play Sanctuary. This project is very close to my heart and I’m looking forward to supporting many vulnerable children over the next few years in this little ‘hub of happiness’. Rafa our Play Dog is ready, willing and able not only to do the sponsored walk but to provide much needed companionship for these children – many of them are deeply affected by challenge, trauma or crisis in their lives and I know The Play Sanctuary will really help them cope in adversity and build resilience alongside our amazing play team”.

The team’s efforts have raised more than £1,500 so far, with Nationwide Building Society kindly donating an additional £500.
