February Half Term 2018

Despite the cold, the wind, the rain, the sleet, and the snow over 418 people visited our twelve play sessions across Gloucestershire last week.

It was a half term of two halves with wet, cold, windy conditions to start with and then glorious days of sunshine for the final two days.

Highlights include our Team Leader Ben getting a table tennis tutorial from a county champion, thanks to Jack in Nailsworth for his patience in teaching an old(ish) Play Ranger some new tricks!

In Abbeydale we introduced a group of young people to Pooh Sticks, it was their first experience of playing and they LOVED it, the Pooh Stick championships even led to some competitive Rangers and parents getting involved.

The unsung heroes of holiday childcare – grandparents –  came along in high numbers to join in the fun and shared experiences with their grandchildren during active and creative play.

Across three of our sites within 24 hours of each other we had residents and a local Councillor tell us “I have never seen this park so busy!” That’s the Play Ranger Effect.
