A Milestone for Play Gloucestershire

Another milestone for TeamPG!

Today was our first ever play team made up entirely of those that have come through our YoungVolunteer/ApprenticeRanger programme.

Lolly and her team today of Josh and Ellie facilitated a day of friendship and fun for pupils transitioning from year 6 to 7 in the surroundings of their new secondary school as part of the County Council’s Playful Transitions project.

All three started their individual journeys with us at their local community play sessions, joining our Young Volunteers scheme when they were 10 years old. Lolly, Josh and Ellie attended residential breaks to help develop the scheme; they also took part in training days and travelled across the County to join us on site and help out.

Then at 16 they applied to become Apprentice Rangers – watching and learning from our senior Rangers working in the play team, while also being paid for their hard work.

With all that knowledge and experience under their belts they became fully fledged Play Rangers at 18 years old. Now in their early 20’s they are valued members of our team.

We’re immensely proud of you Lolly, Ellie and Josh, as we are of all our other past and present PG Alumni members.
