Remembering Neil Hutton

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Neil Hutton, one of our much-loved Play Rangers, has died.
Neil was a huge part of Play Gloucestershire’s story. He will always be remembered for his playful spirit, his big heart, and his dedication to giving children and young people the freedom to play and enjoy the outdoors.
Many will recall the time he bounced into a school assembly on a space hopper, bringing smiles and laughter as he promoted nearby play sessions. His loyal dog Alfie became just as much a part of our play family as Neil himself – especially when Alfie would join in with birthday songs, howling along in his own unique way.
Neil had a deep love of nature and believed that every child should have the chance to explore, discover, and grow in the great outdoors. He made sure that countless children and young people across Gloucestershire had those opportunities – and in doing so, created joyful memories that will last a lifetime. Neil will be deeply missed by all of us at Play Gloucestershire, the families and children he supported, and the many friends he made along the way. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Neil – and thank you for the laughter, kindness, and joy you brought into so many lives.
